What it means

Issuer and interface

The stablecoin issuer and the application through which a user holds or transfers it are different roles. Paxos publishes PYUSD information and reserve reports, while a payment app or exchange can impose its own access and transfer conditions.

Operational checks

Confirm the specific network, token identifier and receiving service’s support before sending. A conversion quote inside an application is not the same as an unconditional redemption right available to every holder. Assess custody, issuer, contract and network dependencies separately.

Related concepts

Stablecoin, USDC, Payment settlement.

In practice

A concrete example

A business confirms that its receiving account supports the exact PYUSD network before giving the customer payment instructions.

Technical notes & boundaries

Avoid inferring universal availability, deposit insurance or guaranteed market prices from the PayPal name. This definition does not assert BluPay asset support.
