What it means

Transactions and programs

A Solana transaction can contain multiple instructions and the signatures required to authorize them. Instructions invoke programs and refer to accounts used by those programs. Tokens have identifiers and account structures that must be interpreted using Solana-specific rules.

Payment integration

A payment integration checks the exact network, token mint, destination, amount and observed transaction result. It also chooses a commitment level suitable for its business risk. An interface showing a submitted signature does not by itself establish successful or finalized execution.

Related concepts

In practice

A concrete example

A merchant checks a token transfer against the intended mint and recipient, then applies its commitment policy before marking an order paid.

Technical notes & boundaries

Processed, confirmed and finalized are different commitment levels. Performance claims and fee estimates must identify their measurement and network conditions.
