What it means

The commercial workflow

B2B payments often connect to purchase orders, invoice references, approval rules and negotiated due dates. The payment method is only one part of that process; matching the funds to the correct obligation is equally important.

Crypto does not replace the records

Businesses paying in cryptocurrency still need agreed pricing, asset and network details, payment evidence and accounting records. A network transaction identifier does not replace an invoice, tax record or acceptance document. For cross-border transactions, currency and local requirements also need attention.

Related concepts

Invoice, Purchase order, Net payment terms, Payment reconciliation.

In practice

A concrete example

A distributor pays a supplier invoice with an agreed asset and retains both the commercial invoice reference and the payment transaction evidence.
